Linda
J. Hutchinson has been writing since she learned how to
print her name. First published at 17, she has since written numerous
stories and articles that have appeared in magazines and newspapers,
trade journals, newsletters, and on websites. She is self-employed
as a Freelance Writer, Reporter/Photographer, and Copywriter.
Holding down regular jobs in banking, real estate, insurance,
and accounting to support her family, she was tapped to do the
writing for everything from press releases to employee handbooks
to articles for the corporate magazines. Her volunteer endeavors
followed suit and she was soon writing for the Board of Realtors,
the March of Dimes, United Way, and a host of others--on a volunteer
basis--as a corporate "loaned" employee.
Her grandfather and father, both now deceased, and husband Michael,
were and are her most loyal supporters in the writing arena. A
mystery/suspense novel is in process. Expect murder and mayhem
on an International scale!

PHILIPPINE
FEVER
Bruce Cook
Capital Crime Press, 287 pages
ISBN: 13: 978-0-9776276-7-7
One week in the Republic of the Philippines can be deadly.
Sam Haine, decorated Agent for Homeland Security: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms, and Explosives, had begun tracking American gun runner Harvey
Tucker and his cargo container of Chinese AK-47's that were headed for
Texas.
When Tucker's mutilated body turns up in Manila, Sam finds himself working
with the Philippine version of the FBI. "Bogie", a Filipino
with a penchant for American black and white movies, drag queen Garcia,
and two other agents of the NIB, begrudgingly begin working with this
"kano" while their own investigation wends its way through the
smuggling capital of the world.
Dealing with the time difference between Manila and his office in Los
Angeles, jet lag, the loss of his wife, cultural innuendo, and an ailing
Philippine infrastructure aren't the only boondoggles Sam encounters.
He soon uncovers links between CIA covert operations, corrupt politicians
who all seem to have familial ties and long-harbored resentments, Al Qaeda,
the importing and selling of sex-slaves, and one tough Fiscal-a beauty
by the name of Jennifer Santos.
When Harvey Tucker's sister shows up, all hell breaks loose. A self-proclaimed
tri-sexual-she'll try anything sexual-pieces of the Tucker puzzle begin
to fall into place. She meets her match only when she hooks up with sadistic
Nosaka.
Olivia, Bogie's female nemesis, keeps the personal action going with Bogie,
and the business side with her sex-club partner-giant CIA operative Juan
Samoa. American Mike and his American Bar, at the edge of the now-closed
but illicitly operational former American military base, provide enough
intrigue to fill another book for author Bruce Cook.
While never quite developing a taste for meryenda, Sam finds his NIB counterparts
more than capable. He also finds just how far the political strings can
stretch.
Dr. Cook has done his homework well. Mystery lovers will get their fill
with this one! Suspense rules.
