  • Title: CapWar Election (Capstone Conspiracy, book 1)
    Author: Brandt Legg
    ASIN: B0799HGHL6
    No. Pages: 384
    Ebook price: $2.99

CapWar Election was my first book by Brandt Legg. I was absolutely hooked, couldn’t stop reading, and am itching to get the next book in the series.

I’m normally a mystery reader, but CapWar Election may have turned me into a political thriller junkie. (That is, as long as the books are written by Brandt Legg.)

Against a backdrop of a heart pounding plot that just doesn’t stop, the characters in CapWar Election jump off the pages as memorable and beautifully fleshed out, and the writing is superb: a fast and error-free read.

I especially loved Mr. Legg’s main character, Hudson Pound, a hardworking, decent hardware store owner. He’s a good family man, he served and loves our country, and he’s the kind of guy you’d enjoy chatting with at your local hardware store. Yet, in spite of the good life he now lives, Hudson is haunted by a decades-old secret from his past.

When this everyman, this non-political, decent Joe is tapped for the presidential election by one of the richest men in the world, nobody can believe it, especially Hudson. His loving wife and children support the move though, because they believe in him and know he could change the world for the better.

Through corruption, lies, murder, sabotage, and more, Hudson races to the finish line with outstanding courage, while the reader flips pages as fast as he can.

Seriously, folks, this thriller needs to be made into a blockbuster movie. It is that good! Thank you, Mr. Legg, for this supremely satisfying read.
